Spring/Summer
2009 News Update
The past
few months have been quite busy for the Extreme Flight
crew! Between the Southeastern Model Show in
Perry, GA, The Weak Signals Expo in Toledo, OH, SEFF in
Americus, GA and the Joe Nall in Woodruff, SC we have
covered a lot of ground! It's been great getting to see old friends
and meeting lots of new ones.
Still several shows to attend during the 2009 season
including the XFC, Chattanooga 3D Jam, Toys for Tots Fly-in
and of course the Hotlanta Hucktoberfest.
I'm sure there will be a few more last minute additions
as well as a trip to China in there
somewhere.
Lots of
exciting news to report!
We are expecting a new container to arrive in the
next week which will contain the highly anticipated Russian
Thunder Yak-54 in both the 50cc and 100cc sizes.
In case you haven't heard, Jim Bourke, owner of
Knife Edge Software, RC Groups, Flying Giants, and Crack
Roll owns the only full scale Yak-54 still flying in the
U.S.. The legendary Russian Thunder Yak-54 was made famous on the
airshow circuit by the late Eric Beard, and Mr. Bourke
has licensed us to produce our Yak-54 with this color
scheme. This iconic aircraft features a beautiful
high visibility color scheme that is sure to turn heads
at the flying field.
There is a very limited
number of these on this container so if you are interested
please contact us ASAP to reserve one.

Also on
board is the new 48 inch Extra 300EXP.
This aircraft is by far my favorite small electric
that we've produced thus far.
Please check out all the details on the product
page here.
This is one bad machine that is sure to "fly"
right out of our warehouse, so be sure to place your order
today!

The new
50cc Edge 540T that we unveiled at Toledo
is currently in production and we expect to receive our
first shipment later this summer.
Look for updates as we get closer to the release
of this new powerhouse aerobatic machine.

I have
requested one more prototype of the 78 inch Extra from
our factory to be sure that the last few modifications
were correctly implemented. We should receive this sample by the end
of May and will get it in the air immediately. I expect to receive the first shipment
early fall. This
aircraft will be offered in a dedicated electric version
as well as a gas/glow version.

As seen
at the Joe Nall, the 123" Extra 300 has been finalized
and is ready for production.
Cowl and canopy molds are being machined and wood
is being cut. I
am returning to China
right after my anniversary on June 7th to oversee the
beginning of production.
I know it has been a long time coming, and for
that I apologize, but I am glad we took the time to make
the changes incorporated into this most recent version. The improvement in flight performance is
substantial and I feel confident that the 123" Extra
will become a dominant force in the upper levels of IMAC
and invitational competitions.

Several
more releases are in the works and I'll talk more about
these in the next news update.
I sincerely
hope that all of you are having a great flying season
and I look forward to talking airplanes with you at an
upcoming show. Please stop by our tent and rap with us
for a while, we'd love to hear your feedback and get your
input.
See ya
at the flying field!
