Control Linkages 1
Sometimes customers assembling their first high-performance aerobatic aircraft are puzzled why the control linkages are not "straight", particularly on the ailerons.
The linkages on well-designed high performance aerobatic aircraft are critical components and they have to be designed to function under extreme loads. The control horns we employ are tremendously strong and lightweight...but they must be aligned correctly to the pushrod so that when they are under maximum load at maximum deflection, the side-load on the horn is minimized. As you can see, the offset design of our linkages achieves this at maximum deflection.
