The original 88” Edge 540T holds a special place in Extreme Flight history. First introduced in 2009, its combination of manageable size, light weight and unmistakable Edge flying characteristics made it a favorite and one of the defining Extreme Flight airframes of its generation.

Nearly two decades later, the 88” Edge is back.

First revealed a year ago at the Great Lakes Fly-In, this new generation has spent the past year in the air with our team flying, testing and refining the platform to capture what made the original so special while incorporating everything we’ve learned since. The result is an Edge that is lighter, stronger, sharper and completely dialed.

The new 88” Edge 540T brings our latest design, construction and assembly technology into an incredibly versatile 60–76cc platform, optimized around today’s lightweight 70/76cc two cylinder engines for exceptional power-to-weight performance. But for pilots looking for an even lighter and simpler package, today’s 60/61cc singles also deliver outstanding results.

Advanced composite construction, refined aerodynamics and our latest structural technology preserve the stable, confidence-inspiring Edge feel while delivering the agility and control authority demanded by modern flying. From precision and traditional aerobatics to aggressive 3D and XA, the 88” combines light weight, strength and versatility with the unmistakable locked in character that has made the Edge 540T an Extreme Flight favorite for generations.

The 88” also continues the newest generation of the Extreme Flight Edge 540T family, sharing the same signature colorways as our 60"/67”/104” Edge and the upcoming 75”, giving pilots the ability to choose the size and equipment package that best fits their flying style.
